Airport Park and Fly

An independent operator going up against Sydney Airport’s own car parks. Three months into working with Direct Local, they’re already holding top-three positions on Google Maps for terms their competitors have spent years and millions of dollars defending.

01 — The challenge

Competing with the airport itself

The businesses above them on Google are Sydney Airport’s own P2, P3 and P7 car parks and Blu Emu, sitting on 60/100 domain authority and over 115,000 backlinks. Airport Park and Fly started at 11/100 with two directory listings out of thirteen.

02 — What we’re doing

Seven profiles, built properly

Direct Local manages all seven of their locations. We rebuilt each Google Business Profile around how travellers actually search, corrected name, address and phone data across the web, and began the long job of building authority behind the site.

03 — Where it stands

Ground taken, quarter one

43 keywords now rank that didn’t before, 114 have moved up, and five sit in the top three on Maps. The heavy authority work is still underway — this is what the first quarter looks like.

This is who they’re up against

Local search isn’t a fair fight. The airport’s car parks share one of the most authoritative domains in Australian travel. Every position taken off them is taken the hard way.
